Three years ago when we started Snapmarket, I sketched the initial idea of a three-by-three grid of activities to develop a solid marketing operation. That grid eventually became our method we call Story System Send, which we’ve since highly refined. Now we’re able to codify that method into a docs site at docs.snapmarket.co, allowing anyone to understand the core ideas behind why and what we do.
On this site you’ll see over fifty pages of writing and dozens of videos that describe our process.
The purpose of this is to help clients and prospects answer the question, “Where have we been and where are we going?”
As anyone in marketing knows, there are a zillion moving parts that all have to work as an integrated whole: The overall go-to-market and message have to inform the visual identity, which then translates into a production-grade website, which then maps onto a content marketing engine, which then builds a pipeline and closes deals. Our team and our clients and their stakeholders all have to see how each step relates to the next in order to make informed decisions, and we need to surface that information at a moment’s notice to maintain clear deadlines.
AI is dramatically changing some of the how of that method, but the core ideas and process remain the same. We’ve seen it work over and over again across nearly a hundred clients to build effective marketing quickly. What we’ve added in the last three years as a result is refinement around the tools and workflows we use as well as a coordinate system to help us and our bots all understand where things stand at any given moment.
The biggest upgrade we’ve made, however, has come with our Scale practice around how we measure what we produce every month. It helps answer the question, “Is this thing working or should we try something else?” Preceding the answer to that, though, requires a clear direction for the results we hope to achieve, which led to us developing what we call a thesis for each of our clients.
With this tool we’re able to provide more context to the decisions we’re making as questions come up. We believe that writing is thinking, and if we have publicly available statements on our method, we can continue to be held accountable to them and sharpen them over time. Snapmarket aims to be an efficient and transparent marketing agency that helps our clients grow from founders into a firm, and we hope this serves that mission.
So, where do we go from here? You’ll see some tags on the pages labeled “Forthcoming,” where we aim to provide more details around our Scale practice to operationalize rigorous analysis for what works and what doesn’t. This will help us make the most of every client dollar and continue to partner with our clients to drive revenue and grow their businesses.
I also have some more philosophical thinking to do around the why and the so-what of our work, the genesis and the telos of what makes marketing good, true, and beautiful in a chaotic, AI-fueled world, so I’ll keep writing toward that end.
Stay tuned.
